Digiday have recently launched TLDR: a nifty way of condensing longer content into bite-sized chunks. Is this a sensible response to changing reading habits, or a symptom of a growing inability to consume longer content?

Adult colouring books have been topping headlines as the latest craze in book publishing, but should we be surprised?

The current bestselling title at Amazon is Secret Garden, an Adult Colouring Book (no...not that kind of adult!). Illustrated by Johanna Basford, it is a beautiful compilation of pen-and-ink illustrations just begging to be coloured in. It even doubles as a treasure hunt, with hidden tiny creatures and even blank spaces to continue drawing!

Articles seem to be appearing at an alarming rate trumpeting the reasons why PDF replica editions are a good choice for publishers. Without pointing fingers, the most recent have forecast a long and happy life for replicas. Some of the most common reasons cited are easy conversion, lower costs and time effectiveness, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security about the future of digital offerings.
