TES merge best of both worlds with new personalised app launch

The Times Educational Supplement has launched a number of key upgrades to its TES Digital app, introducing a personalised 'My TES' feed and more.

The app has a digital circulation of over 15,000 people, which outranks popular titles such as Top Gear, GQ, Empire and Time magazine.

Google partners with Twitter for "Instant Article" challenger

This is the announcement from Google we've all been waiting for. "Accelerated mobile pages" are the tech giant's answer to Facebook's Instant Articles and Apple News, and they're partnering with Twitter to launch it.

There's been no official word from either company yet, but "Accelerated mobile pages" has been created to solve the same problem as their rival's projects: the frustrating load times of publisher's websites on mobile devices. The goal will eventually be to develop a universal standard for publishers who push content to the web.

Apple Event proves disappointing for publishers

September has rolled around once again, bringing with it the annual release of bigger, shinier, pricier stuff from the Apple factory.

The rumour mill has been grinding furiously for months since Apple's conference in June, but publishers hoping for some long-awaited clarity about the release of Apple News or its editor, Apple News Format, were disappointed.
